Puerto is a picturesque little town located in the Yucatan, Mexico,
and known for its breathtaking white sand beaches and gentle surf.
Swimming here is very safe, and the Gulf very clean, making it an
excellent spot for snorkeling. Other recreational activities in
Puerto Telchac include hiking, sailing, boating and fishing, and
sunning on beautiful beaches. The small town of Puerto Telchac has
a main plaza with a local market for fresh fruits and vegetables,
several shops, as well as some excellent seafood restaurants –
and even an Internet café. While staying in Puerto Telchac,
be sure to take a day trip to explore the ancient Mayan pyramids
of Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Dzibilchaltun, and X-Cambo. The resort city
of Cancun is approximately four hours by car, and is a fascinating
trip with Mayan ruins and interesting cenotes along the way. The
colonial city of Merida is about 50 minutes from Telchac Puerto
and has an international airport, and more options for shopping
and dining. For a real taste of Mexico, away from the tourist crowds
and noise, a stay in Puerto Telchac is just want you’re looking
for and will leave you relaxed and refreshed. You can be as laid-back
or as active as you want in this rustic little town – there’s
